Hello,

My name is Amelia, I am a 37 year old wife and mother to three wonderful boys, all of whom I love very much. I have always been an active person who is on the go. I love spending time outside with my friends and family, especially when it comes to camping and the beach. I grew up in Pennsylvania, and now reside in Arizona. I have been in healthcare and public service for most of my adult life; I started cleaning hospital rooms when I was 19 years old, became an EMT, went to school to become a paramedic, and completed nursing school. I have worked pre-hospital as well as in, and recently, I landed my dream job as a flight nurse/paramedic. I am a Christian and a firm believer in Jesus Christ. I believe that God has a plan for our lives, even if we can’t always see it.

This blog is about journey that has been placed before me. This journey is one that I never would have found myself on. What happens when your whole world is turned upside down in the blink of an eye? So, here we are.  I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer one month ago.  This diagnosis initially shattered my world, however, I have faith that God has a plan, even though I may not know what that plan is. While there are going to be many ups and downs, I have decided to be positive through this situation and share my journey..

This blog is about a journey of faith, hope, and fight. My hope and my fight come from God, as nothing good can come from me.

Why “Forged in the Flames”?

For centuries many things have been created using fire and heat. fires are utilized to create something from nothing, or even to change an item from one thing to the next. we are often changed by events that happen in our lives. there are times when those events may change us for the good or the bad. the current situation I face is changing me for the good.
